Senior AI (LLM) Engineer

Impressit is looking for a Senior AI (LLM) Engineer to join a UK-based product team building an AI-powered SaaS platform for property and facilities management. The product uses conversational AI and automation to streamline customer communication and operational workflows.
This is a great opportunity to work on production AI/LLM and agentic functionality as an embedded member of an established engineering team. You will continue and evolve an existing AI stack, working with production code and integrations rather than building a solution from scratch.

— Continue the existing AI/LLM and agentic development work previously owned by the current engineer
— Develop, maintain, and improve AI functionality using Python
— Work with LangChain / LangSmith for AI workflows, tracing, observability, and analysis
— Integrate AI services with the AskPorter platform, database, and other services
— Work alongside TypeScript microservices, primarily reading and understanding existing code, APIs, and integrations
— Work with internal APIs and service-to-service integrations
— Support integrations with communication channels such as Microsoft Bot Framework and WhatsApp, with potential voice integrations
— Take ownership of an existing production codebase and continue development without unnecessary rewrites
— Investigate issues, debug existing AI functionality, and improve system reliability
— Identify and implement practical improvements to AI implementation, observability, and engineering practices
— Collaborate closely with the client’s engineering leadership and other engineers
— Participate fully as a member of the client team, including standups, engineering meetings, retrospectives, and day-to-day technical collaboration
— Ramp up on the existing AI architecture, internal APIs, and development practices
— Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform’s AI and agentic capabilities

— 4+ years of commercial software development experience
— Strong commercial experience with Python
— Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications and AI agents
— Proven experience integrating AI functionality into production systems
— Experience with LangChain / LangSmith
— Good understanding of microservice architectures and API-based integrations
— Experience working with internal APIs and service-to-service integrations
— Ability to read and understand TypeScript services and existing integrations
— Experience working with existing production codebases and continuing another engineer’s work
— Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
— Ability to identify and implement practical improvements in AI implementation, reliability, observability, and engineering practices
— Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a client-side engineering team
— Advanced level of English

— Experience with Microsoft Bot Framework
— Experience with WhatsApp, messaging, or voice integrations
— Experience with distributed TypeScript microservice ecosystems
— Experience with LLM observability, evaluation, and tracing
— Familiarity with Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants
— Previous experience in PropTech, property/facilities management, SaaS, or conversational AI
— Experience working with an existing AI product where reliability, maintainability, and production readiness are key priorities
